Timeline

Case submission 14.02.2023. - 14.03.2024.

Corresponding authors of the approved submissions will be contacted by 15/04/2024.

The authors will present the selected cases in the metaverse 25/05/2024

A. Who can participate

Each participant can endorse up to 3 cases for each branch of the competition.

B. Criteria for submission

B.1. Only original unpublished cases can be submitted.

B.2. Cases should describe an original observation concerning diagnosis, treatment or both in the following branches:

Diagnostic Dilemmas:

Cases involving challenging diagnoses in cardiology.

Treatment Innovations:

Cases focused on innovative or cutting-edge treatments for cardiovascular conditions.

Pediatric Cardiology:

Cases specifically related to cardiology issues in pediatric patients.

Interventional Cardiology:

Cases emphasizing interventional procedures and techniques.

Heart Failure Management:

Cases centered around the comprehensive management of heart failure patients.

Cardiac Imaging:

Cases highlighting the use of various imaging modalities in cardiology.

Electrophysiology Challenges:

Cases involving complex arrhythmias and electrophysiological interventions.

Preventive Cardiology:

Cases addressing strategies for preventing cardiovascular diseases.

Global Cardiovascular Health:

Cases focusing on cardiology challenges and solutions on a global scale.

Women's Cardiovascular Health:

Cases specifically related to cardiovascular issues affecting women.

C. Stages

C.1: Submission of cases

Cases should be sent by

They should include an abstract, and a figure or video.

Submissions must be made between 14.02.2023. - 14.03.2024.

C.2: Review and selection by the jury

Selected members of the jury, chosen by the GSoC Scientific Committee, will be responsible for:

Reviewing all submitted cases and approving those meeting all required criteria.
Selecting 10 best case reports for stage 3.
Corresponding authors of the approved submissions will be contacted by 15/04/2024.

C.3: Oral presentation

The authors will present the selected cases in the metaverse meeting that will be held on 25/05/2024

A single presentation should not exceed 7 minutes, with the number of slides adjusted accordingly.

Each presentation will be followed by 3 minutes of questions/ comments from an assigned expert.

After the conference the jury will award the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place through voting.

The oral presentations will be recorded and published on the GSoC website after the meeting.

C.4: Award ceremony

The results will be announced at the award ceremony on 25/05/2024 after the end of presentations.

F.Recognition and Awards:

F.1.Case reports that make it to the top three can be published for free in the following journals after peer review process.

F.2.The chance to attend all scientific meetings of the Global Society of Cardiology for one year, free of charge.

F.3. The corresponders of the top three cases will have free access to the 123 Sonography Master Class for one year.

F.4. The top three case correspondents will receive complimentary online registration for the Berlin 3D Echo Workshop and will have the opportunity to present their cases during the workshop, either online or onsite.

F.5. The corresponders of the top three cases will be announced on the Global Society of Cardiology and 123 sonography websites and across all social media accounts of Global Society of Cardiology

F.6. The corresponders of the top three cases will have the opportunity to attend the Global Society of Cardiology Board as a guest board members in 2024-2025.

F.7. The corresponders of the top three cases will have scientific support from the board of Global Society of Cardiology.
